The Recital

Choked, moved, my spirits light
Overwhelmed by heaven’s beauty on earth
Angels all in flight
Causing my rebirth

In me at times I refuse to see
The doors to everlasting is here to stay
My angel is back in me
Forever I must play

1,000 Cranes - Your Wish Will Come True

My wife, Marisu, continues to inspire me.

Marisu is on a six week medical leave. She is doing very well. But needs to rest. Being a type "A" General Manager of the Athenaeum, Caltech's Faculty Club, she is bored doing nothing. From that boredom she started one Origami Crane and then to 20 then to 60, now 260 cranes.

After some discussions with the family, she has made a commitment to do 1,000 cranes in four weeks. She plans to use the 1,000 cranes as a form of fund raising for Athenaeum's Architectural Renovation - they have 20 guest rooms and she is raising funds. I will update you on her progress .. but we are all excited. And continue to be amazed by how Marisu's imagination, dedication -- going beyond the self-indulging reading, DVD, Solitaire, etc. while recovering.

If only I have a fraction of her tenacity and dedication, I would be a happy man.
